Today is the third day of the #31daystowrite challenge. Here is my Scripture of Faith for today. Psalms 89:1 states, “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.” No matter what we do, God will forgive us as long as we truly repent for what we have done and have a contrite spirit. This means we have to genuinely believe that what we have done is wrong and completely regret what we have done wrong. We have to ask for forgiveness and recognize that we need to sin no more.
Does this mean we will never sin, of course not – because the flesh is weak. But it does mean that we need to actively pursue righteous living and to do what is true and correct in God’s eyes. We need to follow the example of Jesus Christ. This means we need to love not only our neighbors, but our enemies as well. We need to focus on showing Christ’s love to those around us.
So what Scriptures of faith do you love? What is going on in your corner of the world? I would love to hear from you.
So today is the first day of the #31DaysofWriting Challenge. For this series I have chosen to write about 31 Scriptures of faith. And with what is going on in my life right now, I need all the faith I can find. My husband was ordained as a Primitive Baptist preacher almost 23 years ago. As time has passed, I have heard my husband preach many times. As with most preachers I have listened to, certain verses are used repeatedly. One of those verses for my husband is Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
We need to have faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but we obviously can not see Him physically. We can see the evidence of His love around us. He willingly died on the Cross for our sins. I did not see that happen. I can not begin to imagine the agony and pain He endured. Yet I can see through the words in my Bible the incredible love He had for us. He willingly died on the cross for our sins.
When we watch someone treat another in love, we see the manifestation of Jesus Christ’s love for us. I know that He is my personal Lord and Savior. A couple of years ago, I saw the manifestation of Faith, when a pastor at the church we were currently attending allowed my husband to baptize our sons because that pastor had faith in our beliefs and convictions. He also allowed my father-in-law, who is also an ordained Primitive Baptist minister, to play a role in the service, even though they had never met.
Faith brings so many opportunities for growth, even when we do not necessarily want the growth. So what verses come to mind for you regarding faith? My prayer is that these next 31 days help increase your faith and Scriptures for you to fall back on as you move through your days
