Blogging A to Z – “F” is for Faith, Family, and Friends

#AtoZChallenge 2019 Tenth Anniversary blogging from A to Z challenge letter

Here is my next installment in my Blogging A to Z series for 2019.  “F” is for family and faith.  Family plays an important role in my life.  My husband and children bring untold blessings, laughter and more to my life.  They provide a lot of joy and distractions in my life.  They instigate a lot of mischief and more in our home.  Truly, they bring so much excitement and intensity to our lives.

Here are some of my favorite Scriptures about Faith.  This first verse from Hebrews is one my husband frequently uses when he is preaching.  Through the years, it has become one of my favorite verses.

Hebrews 11_1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

This verse from Romans reminds us that faith rather than the law is what gives us our salvation.

Romans 3_28 (KJV) -

Another verse is found in Romans.  Truly, peace is something worth desiring and striving to obtain.

Romans 10_ 17 (KJV) - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ_

Here is another verse from Romans my husband frequently uses when preaching.  I love the words of this passage.

Romans 10_17 - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Finally, this verse from Ephesians is another of my favorite passages, because my husband has frequently used it in his sermons.  This passage reminds us that our salvation is a gift from God rather than something we can earn by any good works we might do.

Ephesians 2_8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves_ it is the gift of God_

So what comes to your mind when you see the letter “F”.  I would love to hear from you.  If you would like to read my other posts from this series, click here.

Blogging A to Z – “E” is for Energy, Emotions, and Empathy

#AtoZChallenge 2019 Tenth Anniversary blogging from A to Z challenge letter E

This is my fifth entry in my series for Blogging A to Z 2019, so the letter is “E”.  “E” is for Exploration, Emotions, and Empathy.  With four children in our home, it has been filled with a lot of energy throughout the years.  They constantly have things to discover and to explore.  I have things to explore as well for our writing, for our homeschooling, and for places to visit.

As I am writing and living life, emotions constantly bombard me from all directions.  I have to deal with my emotions, the emotions of my family, and the emotions I wish to convey in what I am writing.  Sometimes I like the emotions, but at other times, the emotions frustrate me.  It is easy to want to convey a specific emotion, but when I am unable to do so it makes things difficult.

Finally, “E” is for Empathy.  Whether living my life or writing, Empathy needs to play an important role. Being able to feel and understand what others are feeling provides a way of relating to those around me.  It also allows me to attempt to express my feelings to those who are reading what I am writing.

So when you see the letter “E” what comes to mind for you?  I would love to hear from you.

“D” is for Dreams, Daughters, and Drawing

#AtoZChallenge 2019 Tenth Anniversary blogging from A to Z challenge letter D

Well, I may be a couple of days late, but here is my Blogging A to Z entry for “D”.  “D” is for Dreams, Daughters, Drawing.  Dreams allow us to imagine what could be possible.  They allow us to explore uncharted territory.  They give us wings to fly.  Or to write that book someone may have always wanted to write.  Perhaps, dreams allow someone to compose or arrange the perfect piece of music.  Or other things become possible.  They let us have something to strive for and to reach.

Second, “D” is for daughters.  Our daughter has been such a blessing to our family.  She makes us laugh.  She is mischievous at times. She brings joy and so much more to our family.  She truly is a blessing.

“D” is also for drawing.  Learning to draw is one of my own dreams.  I see the artwork our daughter and some of our friends do, and I want to be able to do something with drawing myself.  We will have to see where those dreams take me.

What does the letter “D” bring to mind for you?  I would love to hear from you.

“C” is for Community, Compassion, and Crafts

C

Here is my third entry for my Blogging A to Z challenge for 2019.  “C” is for Community and Crafts – specifically Crocheting.  I am a little behind on my Blogging A to Z challenge, but here is my third post for the letter C.  First, “C” is for community.  Several years ago, I discovered several amazing communities.  The first is Compel, part of Proverbs 31 Ministries, which is a place for Christian writers and speakers to connect and learn.  Truly, it has been a blessing to me.  Second is Hope Writers, another community for writers.  This community provides information, instruction, and encouragement.  This community is such a blessing.  Proverbs 31 Ministries is an amazing community offering Online Bible Studies.  I have made a lot of incredible friendships throughout the years from these communities.

Second, “C” is for Crafts, especially Crocheting.  Crafts can be an incredible way to pass time.  It allows me to relax and create something beautiful and useful.  Through the years, I have made a number of blankets for both our families and friends.

What comes to mind when you see the letter “C”.  I would love to hear from you.

A little late but beginning Blogging A to Z challenge

A to Z Challenge 10th Anniversary Badge

So here is my first post for the 2019 Blogging A to Z challenge.  “A” is for abundance, amazement, and ability.

First, “A’ is for abundance.  God has given me an abundance in the way of my amazing husband, our three sons, and one daughter, plus other family members and friends around me.

Second, ‘A” is for amazement.  I stand in amazement looking at the things our children are accomplishing and feel tremendously blessed.

Third, “A” is for ability.  God has given us each different abilities and it is up to us to use them to work for God’s Kingdom.
