Scriptures of Thanksgiving – Day 29

Thankgsgiving Scripture Activity

Today is day 29 of our family’s Scriptures of Thanksgiving activity.  It is also the first Sunday in Advent – so today we will not only be doing our Scriptures for Thanksgiving, we will also be starting our Advent/Christmas activities as well.

For our Scriptures of Thanksgiving activity, we are reading Revelation 11:16-18 and copying verses 16-17.   Here is the graphic.

Revelation 11 16 17

So what are you thankful for today?  What traditions does your family keep for this time of the  year?  I would love to hear from you.

Scriptures of Thanksgiving – Day 27

Thankgsgiving Scripture Activity

Today is the day known as “Black Friday” here in the United States.  It is the day that officially kicks off the Christmas shopping season (or at least for many it does).  Today our family will be spending the day going through  our Christmas things and starting to put up our Christmas tree.  For our family’s Thanksgiving scripture activity, we are reading Psalm118:21-29 and copy verse 29.   Here is the graphic for it.

Psalm 118 29

Today I am thankful for my family.  I have a husband who has been a tremendous blessing to me.  He loves me unconditionally and shows it in everything he does and says.

So what are you thankful for today?

Scriptures of Thanksgiving – November 26, 2015

Thankgsgiving Scripture Activity

Today here in the United States, it is Thanksgiving Day.  Our family will be spending the day at our home enjoying roasted Chicken, stuffing, Sweet Potato casserole, green beans, corn and probably a garden salad.  We will also have Pumpkin pie.  Because it has been a tradition since I was a little girl, we will probably watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.  Later in the day we may even start watching some of our favorite Christmas movies.

Over the weekend, we plan to pull out our Christmas decorations and go through them.  We plan on putting up our tree this weekend as well.  Earlier this year we went to  a Goodwill Thrift store where my husband found two beautiful Nativity sets.  Somehow, we had 5 Nativity sets at the time that were all incomplete.  So these two sets were an amazing find.  Plus, we received a discount for being in the military.  So we will be unpacking and displaying these sets this year.  We have so much to be thankful for this year.

We will also be doing our Thanksgiving Scripture activity as well.  We will be reading Leviticus 7:12 today and copying it.  Here is a graphic to go along with the verse.

Leviticus 7 12

Even though we are not called on to offer sacrifices now, we are still called on to show thanksgiving.  What are you thankful for today?  I would love to hear from you.

Scriptures of Thanksgiving Day 25 – Psalm 118:1

Thankgsgiving Scripture Activity

Today is day 25 of our family’s Scriptures of Thanksgiving activity.  Today we are reading Psalm 118:1-7 and copying verse 1.  Here is a graphic I created for today.

Psalm 118 1

It is wonderful to know God’s mercy endures forever.  He does not have bad days.  Currently I am participating in Proverbs 31 Ministries Online Bible Study for Lysa Terkeurst’s book, “Unglued” and am learning how to maintain my cool rather than losing my temper.  It helps to remember how God grants us mercy and forgiveness even when we don’t deserve it..  So it is important for us to do the same for others.  We need to love the “unlovable” because to God we are all His children and are all entitled to His loving kindness.

So what is going on where you are today?  I would love to hear from you.

Scriptures of Thanksgiving Day 24

Thankgsgiving Scripture Activity

Today is day 24 of our family’s Thanksgiving Scripture activity.  Today we are reading Nehemiah 12:27-30 and we are copying verse 28.  Here is the scripture:

Nehemiah 12 27

We can and should rejoice in the presence of God.  Psalms and hymns are great ways for us to praise and worship God.  David sets a great example of this along with Miriam.  They both rejoiced in the presence of the Lord.

So how do you worship God and show praises for Him?  I would love to hear from you.

Thankgsgiving Scripture Activity

So today is the 23rd day of my Scriptures of Thanksgiving activity with my family.  Today we are reading 1 Thessalonians 3:9-10 and copying both verses.

Here is the Scripture graphic for today.

1 Thessalonians 3 9 10

We need to remember that we need to thank God for everything.  Even when things seem really bad, we need to remember that God can still make great things result. Right now our family is in limbo.  We know we are supposed to be moving after the first of the year to a “brand new to us” state, but right now we are waiting for the official notification.  So we wait.  But I know God has plans for us and those plans will not harm us, but bring good things to our family.  But being patient can be extremely difficult.

This is the week we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the United States and this year our family has a lot to be thankful for this year.  God has truly blessed our family – even though every situation may not have made it seem that way.

So what is going on with you today?  I would love to hear from you.
